Whenever I go to Disney I always think of Epic Mickey.
Is the platformer remake still going? I haven't heard about it since last year.
@ProfessorLayton15 There hasn't really been anything new said about it, I still have my hopes up sense it could have been in the works at the time that the info of "Disney IP Action Game Remake" was leaked so we would still be in that release window.
Yeah, me too. However, Disney hasn't had a big game release in ages. They've basically quit on games except for the licensing for the Kingdom Hearts series.
I wear Oswald ears every time I go in there. Spent like two months putting up with holding it to my head a bunch because the strap was loose but it was the pre-order blue ringed kind instead of the park red ringed kind and I wanted that one, haha!
I bought the Ventureland melty ears logo and the Mickey-Oswald shirt and I'll be wearing those A LOT.
@GeneratedColors Cool that you got the blue preordered ones! I remember back when they first started selling those Oswald ears at Disney Springs (or Downtown Disney back then) and just how excited I was when I saw a cast member in-front of World of Disney wearing one.
They need to sell more Oswald merch. I once thought they stopped selling them alltogether and then I saw a kid with an Oswald plush and did a double take.
@GoombaBroadcast I went to Disney World during 2012, right around the time when the second game came out, when Disney was still semi-trying with Oswald. They sold the Oswald ears, but I guess not a lot of people were buying them or maybe they told the characters and performers to seek them out, because people gravitated to them. A ton of people reacted to those things, it was the best part of the trip.
I still wear them like 70% out of genuine Oswald love, 30% because they're a big attention getter, so you get fun cast and character interactions from them. I had a Jungle Cruise skipper specifically point out that I was wearing preorder ears once, much more recently, for one more relevant to the topic.
@ProfessorLayton15 In DIsney World, at least pre-pandemic, the Oswald merchandise consisted of;
Small normal plush
Slightly larger "knitted" plush
A few pins.
A lanyard
The Main Street Cinema artist could draw him for you (as far as I'm aware there's no DIsney owned character they won't draw).
In other words, yes, a massive disappointment. The place that gets the Oswald merchandise is Japan. He's an actual thing there. I asked where to find Oswald ears, and squeaked when I walked into the store because there was a full on WALL of stuff for the guy.
(It's in the old school New York City themed section in DisneySea, which I bring up because it's kinda funny in an odd way since, if I'm remembering right, I think Walt made the decision to not work on the shorts anymore in New York.)
Cool. I collected the Hidden Mickey Oswald pin set when I was at the parks last.
What do you think?
