Animatronics are robotic characters in Epic Mickey and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Some of them are cybernetic counterparts of popular toons, while some are unique creations, and others were originally toons who turned themselves into animatronics.
As Disney is famous for their audio-animatronics, Wasteland is filled with all kinds of robotic beings. Some friendly and helpful, while others are more malicious.
Role in the series[]
The animatronics featured in the series were created by the Mad Doctor and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, meant to serve as friends and helpers to build Wasteland during it's early years.
However, when the Thinner Disaster hit and the caused the Blot to wreck havoc on Wasteland, the Mad Doctor betrayed Oswald and converted his Beetleworx into his army.
Types of Animatronics[]
There's different types of Animatronics throughout the games.
Animatronic Pals[]
These are replicas of Mickey's friends in his world created by the Doctor to give Oswald friends of his own. They were dismantled before the events of the game and Mickey can either fix them or leave them be.
- Animatronic Goofy - Created by Oswald and the Mad Doctor, can be found in OsTown.
- Animatronic Daisy - Created by the Mad Doctor and possibly Oswald, can be found in Ventureland.
- Animatronic Donald - Created by Oswald and the Mad Doctor, can be found in Bog Easy.
- Animatronic Pluto (scrapped) - Presumably created by the Mad Doctor and possibly Oswald, although he was scrapped from the final game.
Toons turned Animatronics[]
Some animatronics were actually toons who were converted into Beetleworx. There is a major quest in the first game involving turning Hook's crew from Beetleworx to toons again.
- The Mad Doctor - Originally a toon, but turned himself into animatronic during the Blot Wars. He turns back into a full toon during the good ending of Epic Mickey 2.
- Animatronic Captain Hook - A scrapped version of the original Hook who was turned into a Beetleworx with the pirate conversion machine. He also turned some of his crew into Beetleworx like him.
- Petetronic - A toon cyborg who was given upgrades by the Mad Doctor.
Beetleworx[]
A subcategory of animatronics created by the Mad Doctor to serve as his mechanical army. They are the secondary enemy type of the game, although they are less common than Blotlings, they are often more dangerous than them. In Epic Mickey 2, another group called the Blotworx are formed.
- Mechanical Arm - Created by the Mad Doctor to get Mickey's heart.
- Blotworx Dragon - Created by the Mad Doctor.
Other Animatronics[]
Miscellaneous animatronics of various origins.
- Clock Tower - A living clock tower, it is unknown who built him.
- Tick-Tock the Crocodile - Unknown origin, but likely the same as Animatronic Hook's.
- Abe - Created by Gremlin Prescott to watch over the Train Tunnels.
- Robot Dog - Belonging to Mister Rover; theorized to be the scrapped Animatronic Pluto
- Prescott's Mech - Created by Gremlin Prescott as a machine to defeat Mickey and Oswald.
