Black Pete is one of the earlier versions of Pete.

Black Pete proceeded the Pete that appeared in Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons and has, by this time, shed his bear-like appearance, and had become more defined as a cat. Black Pete appeared in only a few cartoons in 1928; one of the only two being; The Gallopin' Gaucho and Steamboat Willie. Black Pete, however, was soon replaced by Peg Leg Pete (or Big Bad Pete) and recognized as more a "fatter" cat. Peg Leg Pete was then replaced by the current/modern Pete.


In Epic Mickey

Black Pete appears in his Captain-form and resides in Wasteland and one of its Projector Screens based off Steamboat Willie. He serves as backround in the first stage. He has a larger role in the third and final part in which he stomps his foot and causes canonballs that can roll down the stairs and hurt Mickey.
