Blot Alley is a location in Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, part of Bog Easy. It is a series of alleyways with different types of blotlings. The Alley also includes Club 13, where Petetronic is stationed at.

History[]

Past[]

When the Blot was destroyed, the Spatters flooded Mean Street and the Toons, not knowing where to put them, took them to Blot Alley. Ghost Ian has been attempting to teach the Blotlings to be peaceful and friendly, however they remain hostile to Mickey since he destroyed the Blot.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]

Petetronic was stationed at Club 13 to continue running the club. Prescott often visits to get to the Train Tunnels and the Floatyard. Mickey and Oswald go to Blot Alley on their trip to find Prescott. They meet with Ghost Ian who explains the situation and asks that they avoid disturbing the spatters as they pass through. Petetronic notifies them that Prescott was working on a project and passed through to the Train Tunnels. He offers to repair the generator to open up the way to the projector and asks for Scrap Metal. However, while he is working Beetleworx appear, Mickey and Oswald must pacify them for Petetronic to finish.

Area Layout[]

Fountain & Statue[]

Houses surround Mickey and Oswald, Spatters patrol the area from the ground and the rooves. Across from the start is a bell. At the end is a thinner fountain that has collapsed and leaked out into the ground. Ian says it was installed to welcome the new blotlings. To the left of the well is an Ink Well and a bell. The next section after the thinner fountain is a space with three doors, the third door is accessible after beating Blot Alley. In the centre is a spatter statue holding a key which can be turned to open the doors.

Blotling Square[]

The next section after the key statue is blotling square. The area is a couple of alleys with clothes hanging and tables garnished. Halfway through is a two paintings. At the end is a collapsed staircase, with a gate to the left which leads to Club 13. There is also a fireworks dispenser and an Ink Well.

Club 13[]

Club 13 is a building in Blot Alley where Petetronic is stationed. A guardian pool runs through. On the opposite end of the entrance is a metal door blocking the projector to the Train Tunnels.

Gameplay[]

Blot Alley can be snuck through or painted/thinned through, (but painting/thinning through is a lot more reliable). There are inkwells throughout which can be set to invisible ink.

Petetronic will take all the Scrap Metal the player has, only returning it if they paint the Beetleworx and talk to him again, he will give back based on how many of the Beetleworx were painted. He will open the door to the projector, but freeing the Gremlin will open the way without needing to fight the Beetleworx.

On the next visit the third door in the key room will work, allowing access to Club 13.

Extra Content[]

  • Blot Alley: (Concept Art 35) Located behind one of the bars in the alley with the two Spladooshes. A little before the bars, you will be able to see two light panels: one on each side of the alley. Hit both luminous panels to change their patterns to the correct pair and it will open the bars. Oswald will automatically solve the puzzle if Mickey hits the panel on the right once.

Costumes[]

  • Gremlin jumpsuit - First section. Next to the photo spot for the thinner fountain, on the platform.
  • Football jersey - Blotling square. In the alley with the two Spladooshes, on the left side is a platform with the chest. If the spladooshes explode it will thin out the supports of the chest rendering it inaccessible.

Pins[]

  • Silver: If Mickey paints all 4 Beetleworx in Club 13 Petetronic will reward him with a silver pin (make sure to ring the doorbell).
  • Special: (Spatter Whisperer) Given by Ian if passed through Blot Alley without harming any Spatters (painting them in also helps).

Challenges[]

  • Running the Gauntlet: Completed by getting through Blot Alley to Club 13.
  • Blot Alley Superstar: Completed by befriending most to all the blotlings in Blot Alley without incident and helped Petetronic (this includes befriending all three beetleworx that appear).

Trivia[]

  • Blot Alley could be inspired by the rejected Disneyland area Edison Square. That is because the 19th century buildings and the statue of a Spatter that resembles the one of Thomas Edison planned for Edison Square. Also there is a bell similar to the one in National Treasure.
  • Blot Alley was first mentioned in the Epic Mickey Facebook Page.
  • Club 13 is based on the famed Club 33 from Disneyland.
    • It is interesting to note that the number 13 is considered an unlucky number, which may explain why Oswald was hit by Petetronic opening the doors.
  • There is a glitch in Blot Alley that allows the player to go out of bounds by jumping on the clothes on the clothes line and jumping over a building. It is difficult to get on top of the clothing items as they are very small and thin.
  • Oddly, in the official soundtrack, the track featured here is named Mean Street.
