Donald Duck is one of Mickey's best friends and the star of many Disney shorts and series, almost being their secondary mascot. While an animatronic version of him appears in the first two games, Donald himself first appears in Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion as one of the many Toons trapped in the Castle of Illusion.
Donald was also meant to star in the scrapped spin-off, Epic Donald.
Role in series[]
In Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion[]
Donald Duck makes his first appearance in the series in Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, where he has been sucked into Wasteland by Mizrabel. He is trapped in her Castle of Illusion, where Mickey will need to save him alongside several other toons.
Donald can be found in Castle West Hall. Mickey will need to leap into a cannon in order to reach him. Once he has been rescued, he will open up his own room in the Castle West Wing of the Fortress.

Donald was going to be the titular protagonist of this game and would've been able to travel around Duckburg and explore different timelines using a time travel device. In a few concept art, he can be seen teaming up with other characters such as Mickey, Scrooge McDuck, and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

WIP model of Donald Duck, planned for Epic Mickey 3
- One concept art for Epic Mickey shows Goofy and Donald, helping Mickey attack the Jolly Roger. It's unknown if they were both meant to appear in the game or were simply placeholders for their animatronic counterparts.
- Donald was meant to appear in Epic Mickey 3. Only a model of him was made before the game got cancelled.
