Gremlin Sam is a gremlin who was captured by the Mad Doctor in the Asian Boat Ride in the World of Gremlins. He is located behind the red mountain-shaped set design to the left of the door where you first entered.
You can save him by first defeating the Spatters around the area, then by using Spin Attack on a gear located in the center of the area. After freeing him, he tells you of some levers he activated, and he also activates the Magic Carpets (from Aladdin) for you.
