The Notilus is a scrapped version of the submarine Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea that appears in Epic Mickey, as well as being the name of the first level in Tomorrow City.

Gameplay[]

It rests in a partially-exposed cavern filled with ancient ruins and broken monorails, based on the architecture in Atlantis: The Lost Empire. When first visiting Tomorrow City, Mickey is directed here from the Plutopia projector screen on Mean Street.

Animatronic Goofy was working on fixing a mechanical system to raise the Notilus before the Mad Doctor broke him. Mickey can either free Gremlin Starr and allow him to raise the Notilus for him it for him or raise it himself by painting in the gears at the top of the mechanism. Once it has surfaced, Mickey and Gus sail it to Tomorrow City Lagoon.

Behind a cartoon wall near the top of the crane on the right side of the map the player can find a chest with Animatronic Goofy's Right Leg.

Around the map there can be found three Golden E-Tickets:

  • On top of a column near the entrance of the level. This one can be reached by jumping on top of it from a nearby pillar.
  • In a tube placed in the right eye of the giant head statue in the north-west side of the map.
  • Behind the doors of the bigger temple at the north side of the map. The doors will open after painting every gear in the map.

Trivia[]

  • The Notilus area is the map with the highest number of obtainable Golden E-Tickets in the game, with a total of three obtainable tickets.
    • This no longer the case in Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, as the number of Golden E-Tickets has been reduced to only one.
  • The Notilus is one of the few areas in the first game without any collectible Pins.
    • This no longer the case in Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, as there is now an unlockable Silver Pin.
