Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]
Pirate Pete was intended to be part of a scrapped subplot for Epic Mickey 2 that would have involved a pirate war between the forces of Blackbeard and those of Hook, in the middle of which Mickey and Oswald were to be caught. Other remnants of this subplot exist in some of Smee's dialogue about the pirates having been led elsewhere by the unseen Blackbeard. The whole subplot and level were cut mostly for time restrictions like many ideas and elements that were planned for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
A piece of concept art exists showing Pirate Pete leading a gang of pirates (both Animatronic and Toon) circling around Mickey and Oswald, with the two heroes keeping a huge treasure. Pirate Pete is depicted as wearing a large hat similar to Hook's and an 18th century pirate costume. It is likely that, unlike Pete Pan, Pirate Pete would have been a villainous antagonist, probably working for whichever pirate captain Mickey and Oswald were going to be enemies with (most probably Blackbeard, but given Captain Hook's antagonistic behavior in the first game, both remain possible).
A test level from a pre-release build of Epic Mickey from early 2011 contains a textured character model of Pirate Pete standing on a flying zeppelin first seen in the Game Informer demo of the first game. Interestingly, this model of Pirate Pete is based off an early model for Pete Pan.
