The Sprite is Pete Pan's magical, fairy-like friend who aids him in adventures and helps him fly. She is necessary in his campaign to fight Animatronic Captain Hook. She is a rejected design of Tinker Bell from Peter Pan.
In Epic Mickey[]
The Sprite was captured by Animatronic Hook and trapped in a cage on the Jolly Roger. Big Bad Pete gives Mickey the quest Restore Pete Pan, which includes rescuing her. If the player should find Pete Pan on Skull Island, he will give more context.
In the boss fight with Hook, the player has multiple choices to defeat the pirate:
- Align Hook's path to lead to the plank, where he will fall off and get chased by Animatronic Tick-Tock the Crocodile
- Align Hook's path so that he rams into parts of his ship and is eventually beaten down
- Traverse the masts and rafters to reach the Sprite's cage at the top of the ship, use a Spin Move and free her from her cage. After this, she will bring back Pete Pan, who will battle Hook.
The third option is the most obvious way to rescue her, although with the other two options, after the player defeats Hook on their own, they can still go to the top of the ship to free the Sprite. She will still go find Pete Pan, who will come to thank Mickey. In all three ways to rescue her, Pete Pan is still redeemed in the eyes of Big Bad Pete, and the quest Restore Pete Pan is completed.
In Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]
The Sprite reappears in the sequel, again as the sidekick of Pete Pan. Pete is tasked by the Mad Doctor to guard the construction site blocking the Projector Screen to Autotopia. If Mickey and Oswald try to enter, the Sprite, who is guarding the passageway, will use her magic to make them float back. The player(s) can use Invisible Ink to get past her, however. She will also disappear if the player(s) pays Pete 500 E-Tickets.
Trivia[]
- It is possible that the Sprite is an atypical Guardian, similar to Gilda's Guardian.
- The Sprite's up-close look is never seen in the games, due to her tiny size and bright light covering it. This is similar to how Tinker Bell was merely a flash of light in theater plays of the story Peter Pan.
- On the last page of the Epic Mickey: Tales of Wasteland comic, Oswald the Lucky Duck, an anthropomorphic character dressed like Tinker Bell appears. Whether this is the Sprite or not is unclear.
- The cage the Sprite is trapped in is a smaller version of a Gremlin Cage.
- In Epic Mickey 2, the Sprite will no longer be at the construction site after Mickey and Oswald enter the Projector Screen to Autotopia.
- The Sprite does not appear alongside Pete Pan in the post-credit scene of Epic Mickey 2.
