Mickey had a moment to get his bearings. They were in

a place that looked like a city of the future. It seemed they were in a kind of arena, with moving platforms circling a center stage. Pulsating lights zipped along all the edges, making dizzying patterns. Towering neon spires rose up all around them. Mickey could see a rocket off in the distance. It was the very spaceship that would take him home.

Epic Mickey (novelization)

Tomorrow City is a location based on Tomorrowland from the Disneyland parks and is one of the major worlds in Epic Mickey and its remake, being the third one you visit and the start of the second main portion of the game.

This land contains elements from Tomorrowland such as the Moonliner Rocket, Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, Space Mountain, and Astro Orbitor. Tomorrow City was a place of hope for the future in Wasteland until the Blot arrived and put a stop to it. Because elements from classic animated films seemed inappropriate for the land, many of the elements come from Disney's classic live action films such as Tron and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Tomorrow City is also the only mission world that doesn't have its own unique hub world before coming through it, instead Mickey goes there directly from Mean Street. Animatronic Goofy's parts were hidden in this area, as he was dismantled while working there.

In Epic Mickey[]

Mickey first goes here to meet up with Oswald to discuss the Moonliner Rocket, but he must traverse thrown the coastal ruins and the city proper to reach the shuttle, which is in Space Voyage. Once he's there, Oswald informs him that the Mad Doctor removed several keys parts to prevent it functioning. The rabbit then instructs Mickey to confront Petetronic on the roof and then find the other parts in different parts of Wasteland.

After the Blot's release, Mickey, Oswald, and Gus return to activate the rocket. But the path to it was blocked by bloticles, Mickey swiftly dispatches them all and they are prepared to fire the rocket at the Blot. But are stopped by the Blot absorbing the paint that held the Rocket together, causing them crash land into Dark Beauty Castle.

Dynamic Music[]

Neutral: Mysterious and atmospheric, a slight feeling of bravery is added to the track.

Paint: A lighter, somewhat whimsical tone.

Thinner: A dark and desolate track, giving it an almost apocalyptic feel to it.

In Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]

In Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, a secret part of Tomorrow City called Autotopia is revealed. The area had actually survived the Thinner Disaster unbeknownst to the population of Wasteland, who thought it had been entirely thinned out. This resulted in no one going there for years until the Mad Doctor discovered it and built his Guardian Siphons there.

Trivia[]

  • Before being separated by the Mad Doctor, Animatronic Goofy mentions he was working in Tomorrow City. When Mickey and Gremlin Gus arrive there Gus mentions that Animatronic Goofy was working on trying to raise the Notilus.
  • Near the Notilus, a monorail can be seen.
  • In a certain portion of Autotopia, if the player looks into the distance, they will see a part of the ruined Tomorrow City, specifically Tomorrow Square.
  • Once Mickey heads to Tomorrow City a second time after completing the Battle in Bog Easy, he will no longer be able to return to Mean Street or any of the hub levels, marking the true point of no return in the game.
  • In the game files, Tomorrow Square is referred to as "TL_MiniHub". Though it doesn't share many traits with the other hubs in Wasteland, it's possible that it may have been more of a hub earlier in development.
