Tortooga Jail is an area found in Tortooga in the Pirates of the Wasteland.

Overview[]

Upon Mickey's entry in Tortooga, Beluga Billy says that his bag of special belongings is missing, and gives Mickey a quest to retrieve it. When the player acquires it, Gus notes how heavy it is. When brought back to Billy, it is found that the contents were stolen and replaced with rocks. This he accuses the Jail inmates for. Mickey has to find at least one jail key to free the prisoner who knows where Billy's belongings are, Ruffian Branderson. After his freeing, he will tell you the location and unlock the door.

Freeing the other two prisoners is optional, but in doing so, old parts of the Pirates of the Wasteland ride will be activated, allowing for Mickey to collect the Treasure Chests with pins inside.

Upon returning to Tortooga after an encounter in the Jungle, if all the Jungle hostiles were neutralized, no enemies will be on the docks, and the prisoners will be walking around, and will give you rewards if you talk to them. However, if the Jungle hostiles were left alone, Mickey will find upon his return that the pirates have been hauled off to their doom on Skull Island, and the docks will be overtaken by Bashers and Blotlings.

Trivia[]

  • When searching for the jail keys, Gus makes several suspicious remarks alluding to the possibility that he did time in prison once.
  • If the Hostiles in the Jungle quest was completed, the prisoners will all be freed regardless of if Mickey left them incarcerated.
